O’Keeffe O’Brien Lyson is excited to announce the addition of another new partner-Tracy Lyson. Tracy specializes in family law and bankruptcy and has been with O’Keeffe O’Brien Lyson for the past six and a half years. Get to know Tracy; we know you’ll love her as much as we do.

About Tracy             

Tracy knew relatively early on that she was passionate about the legal field. Her interest in law was sparked by a high school government class, but although she knew she was interested in law, she wasn’t exactly sure which career path to pursue while in college.

She began working in a small law office as a legal secretary in South Dakota, and then moved to Fargo-Moorhead to study Paralegal Studies at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Tracy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Paralegal Studies in 2002, yet she knew she wanted more.

Path to Becoming an Attorney

After she graduated from MSUM, Tracy decided to apply for law school. “Honestly, I never set out to be an attorney, but that is exactly where my life path took me,” says Tracy.

She studied at the University of North Dakota School of Law in Grand Forks. During law school, Tracy was the student articles editor of the North Dakota Law Review and worked as a paralegal-all while graduating with distinction.

Growth & Success

Tracy joined the O’Keeffe O’Brien Lyson family only three short years after the firm opened  its doors. “I took a leap of faith when I was asked to join O’Keeffe O’Brien Lyson. But I saw it as an opportunity to help build something from the ground up,” says Tracy.

When Tracy started at O’Keeffe O’Brien Lyson, they had three attorneys and two staff members. Today, O’Keeffe O’Brien Lyson has eight attorneys and 14 staff members.

“It is incredible to look around me and see how we’ve grown. I am fortunate to have been a part of the firm virtually since the beginning, but most of all, I am fortunate to call all of the attorneys and staff at KO my friends. We have camaraderie throughout our firm that I doubt you will find at any other law firm.”

Fellow partner and friend Tatum O’Brien Lindbo had this to say of Tracy. “Tracy’s work ethic and dedication to the practice of law have been nothing short of astounding to me.
