Steve is a native of Fargo, born and raised. His parents have both had careers in the medical field and his grandfather and uncles practiced law. Steve has had great influences in his life which helped him decide on law as a profession.
Since he was a young child Steve has wanted to practice law. He describes himself as analytical. But his deep-seated attitude about helping people, taking the weight off their shoulders in a difficult time, shows the personal style he demonstrates when working with clients. He’s a problem solver and really enjoys people.
While in law school at the University of Colorado, he was a production editor at the university’s Law Review. He received the Public Service Pledge Award while in law school by performing many, many hours of public service. Even in school he was helping people.
Prior to entering law school, Steve graduated from the Curtis L. Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota where he majored in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management.
While in and following law school he gained a wealth of knowledge and experience by working as an intern for a Municipal Judge; an extern to a District Chief Judge; an intern in the Golden, Colorado First Judicial District Attorney’s office; a law clerk in the Cass County State’s Attorney’s office and a law clerk for District Court Judge in Minnesota.
